PROMETHEAN ANTAGONIST

It’s certainly no secret that, in several local elections in America, there is now a notable increase in “Democratic Socialists” seeking office (in addition to the places where they have already been successful). Most seek to slip into positions of authority under the Democrat label but increasingly they’re pretty open about their actual allegiance to “Democratic socialism.”

The latest infection of creeping collectivist statism is seeking to depict itself as a kinder gentler form of socialism. They’re certainly beyond mere Scandanavian welfare statism. They effectively steer clear of any references to communism though that is often the fantasy-goal. The usual bitter hatred of wealth and success is still stated as a mere desire to have the wealthy “pay their fair share” but, between the lines is the usual bloodlust.

There are areas in the country where this revitalized class envy has gained considerable traction.

Socialism in all its stripes ultimately seeks to replace the power dynamics in society and focus authority into the state. There are many reasons, justified and concocted, that may motivate one to direct their scorn at the people and institutions that currently define society but, focusing power into the hands of ideologues never works out well for anyone aside from a ruling clique and its devoted followers.

As the statist plague grows, they will encounter opposition. At that point, the Jacobin “revolutionary” will require directed hostility and elimination of opposition to their “cause.” Among a disinterested public, a coup of sorts can effectively be pulled off by a mere 20% of the population.

No matter how enraged one may be at the current state of affairs, how could anyone really think that ceding authority to demagogues, wack-jobs, and sociopaths will work out well “this time?”
